My ode to T.O.

Well, the Bills decided to make it official with the announcement that they were NOT going to resign Terrell Owens for the 2010 season. Um, Hello?? Captain Obvious over here. I could have told you that about two hours after Owens signed with the Bills almost a year ago. It's kind of ironic that in the same week the Bills made it official, Owens was walking down the catwalk at a NYC fashion show. From being mobbed at the airport to introducing his own cereal, all of T.O.'s accomplishments with the Buffalo Bills came off the field.

Look, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't excited about the team signing Owens. Not only did the Bills sign a star player, but it seemed as if he was going to add a jolt to the Bills being relevant again...and that was just from the public relations stand point.

Hell, I wrote a dam article comparing Owens and Lee Evans to Andre Reed and James Lofton. I thought Trent Edwards was going to become the franchise quarterback that Bills fans were hoping for. I thought Lee Evans would finally avoid the constant double teams that he's endured over his career, and be recognized as a top tier wide receiver. I thought Owens would give the locker room a nice swift kick in the butt for their monotone demeanor when it came to losing. Most of all, I was hoping that T.O. would turn around an offense that had been clueless and unwatchable for the last five years. I just wanted something different. Instead, I just got another remixed edition of mediocrity at its finest.

Now, if anyone says that they weren't excited about the acquisition of Owens and were the sole voice of reason against him coming to Buffalo, they are just full of s$#t. Go look up Jerry Sullivan's comments on his blog about T.O. coming to Buffalo. He was drooling at the notion of getting all those money quotes that we had seen on ESPN for the last 10 years. Even if you hated Owens, your silver-lining was that he was going to score 10 touchdowns and catch 80 balls. Don't be in denial, you would have sold your soul to the devil for Owens to guide the team to the playoffs.

Without question, the reason why the Bills signed T.O. was so they could sell the team to the fans. They needed a....you know what? We have gone over why the Bills signed Terrell Owens thousands of times. Let me tell you the reason why T.O. wanted to come to here.

Besides the obvious (No one was going to give him 6.5 million dollars), T.O. had a couple of other reasons. Look, I don't mind a player whose an entrepreneur. If a player wants to go out and read a couple of scripts for movie roles or come out with their own cologne, I can deal with it. However, I'm not a fan of a player who tries to maximize his star power, but at the same time not give anything in return. You know, you scratch our backs and we'll scratch yours. The only scratching Owens did was when the Bills PR staff pried his claws away from the exit door in October.

T.O. played this city like a harp from hell. He wanted to go to a city that was going to embrace not just T.O. the player, but T.O. "The Star." Think about all the activities T.O. did from May to September of last year. Owens was mobbed at the airport by herd of fans dressed in popcorn. He was given the key to the city (At a ceremony that probably cost tax payers money), which he didn't deserve. He then visited our local grocery stores with his imitation Cheerios. He then got bitched at by some girl on a rip off of American Gladiators. And of course, the Coup de grace, his reality show premiered. Sorry Bills fans, but that's not being relevant, that's being played.

I assure you, none of the other 31 NFL cities would have embraced Owens the way Buffalo did. Owens needed that opening montage for his life after football. He needed a crowd that was going to adore him like no other. He took a fan base that was desperate to get their 15 minutes of fame and willing to make him into the self-promoter that he thrives to be. You know how many people in NYC instant messaged me about how foolish Buffalo looked in worshiping Owens? I didn't know what to say.

I'll never forget being at work and watching footage of some moron at the airport dressed in popcorn and describing the atmosphere as being euphoric. Hell, I didn't think Bills fans knew what that word meant. Then, I see Mayor Brown giving Owens the key to the city. Fantastic. Not only do I have to fight off stupid Jets and Giants fans who brag about the Bills losing four straight Super Bowls, but now I have to hear how the city worships a B-List celebrity. That's when I made a pact with Owens. He had better catch 90 balls and turn my humiliation into salvation for the city and the team. Of course, it didn't happen.

Now, before I get the comments that Owens numbers stunk because of bad coaching, bad offensive line play, and bad quarterback play, save it. I'm not stupid. I know it's a big factor for the decline of his numbers. Hell, I was making the same excuse for the first 10 weeks of the season.

However, when we got to the first week of December, I changed my tune. As the weather started getting colder, so did Owens demeanor towards the team. On Wednesday of that week, Owens had to practice outside and made it known that he wasn't exactly a fan of freezing his ass off. On Thursday, Owens didn't practice because he claimed he was sick. Then On Friday, Owens didn't practice again, yet...he was able to drive two hours to Toronto; sign autographs and attend a Raptors game. Seriously? You made the city of Buffalo buy your stale ass cereal and watch your body guard chow down Buffalo wings on your stupid reality show, and all we ask is for you to show a little effort in helping our team out? This wasn't just an isolated incident, it just happened to be the last straw for me. The sugarcoating by me was as dry as his crappy cereal.

Remember all those deep passes thrown to Owens that he didn't exactly give a great effort to catch? He just didn't care about giving it back to fans on the field. Hell, he took his ball (or key to the city) and went home. He completely tuned out the rest of the season.

Lets flashback to the early 90's. There would be stories of Bills players going in on Mondays after a bad loss and trying to fix their problems. The players were so moody after losses that they took it out on everyone...the media, the fans, the liquor. No one was spared, because their drive to get better made them into monsters.

Instead, we get Owens making his twitter page seem like a map for where he was going to show up on Mondays and Tuesdays. One week, he was going NYC and hanging out at a Starbucks. The next week, he was going to hang out with Roy Williams in Dallas. Don't you think Owens should have been hitting the film room after one of the many anemic offensive performances by the team? Hell, his favorite moment of the 2009 season was the bye week.

In the end, T.O. and the Bills made out in the experiment. Unfortunately for Bills fans, they had egg on their faces. Owens was made out to look like a king to Hollywood, while the Bills organization was able to sell tickets and morale. As for the fans, they looked as if they were starving for attention and had been sitting in the mountains without TV and any sense of acknowledgment of the outside world. (Sorry if that sounded harsh, but that's what people said to me when they saw the kissing of T.O.'s ass on TV)

Maybe there's a silver lining in all this. Maybe the Bills have finally figured out that it's not about getting one player. Maybe Owens will take playing for his next team more serious since he's making it on Broadway and his reality show has been greenlit for season II. Maybe Bills fans won't fall for the team's marketing ploys and demand more from their team.

I know some of you will love T.O. till the day he goes to the HOF. On the surface, he has always put over Buffalo as a great city and a community that has adored him. I've always said that if you want Buffalo fans to embrace you, all you have to do is say nice things about their city. That's all fine, I guess.

All I'm saying is that the next time a star-player comes to Buffalo, instead of trying to act vicariously through him as the key to the big time, just try and be proud of the city, and the type of living that you've accomplished without the help of Terrell Owens entering your lives. Trust me, there's still life after football and there's DEFINITELY life after T.O.

T.O. can't get enough of Toronto

So Terrell Owens is following in the footsteps of former Bills player, Willis McGahee, with their unshakable love for Toronto. However, I doubt McGahee ever went to Tornoto the same day he was unable to practice because of the "Whine Flu" that Terrell Owens must have caught.

According to Allen Wilson from TBN and Terrell Owens tweets, T.O. decided that he couldn't get enough of Toronto, by taking a field trip there for the day. Last I checked, the city of Toronto hasn't found the cure for the common cold.

Owens was taking in an autograph session at around 4:30pm at Sears (Couldn't you at least go to JC Penney?), and then concluded his adventure in Canada by taking in a Raptors game at night. Thank goodness the Leafs were playing in Buffalo and the Blue Jays are in offseason selling mode, or Owens may have made the day into a triathlon of sporting events.

I'm sure we all know that T.O. hasn't practiced the last two days because of an "illness," but felt good enough to take an hour and half drive or Chopper, who knows at this point with this egomaniac, to Toronto.

Look, I've said it before about T.O. and his frequent flyer mile trips across country, if he's playing well, he should go away on his off days. However, if he's not on the same page with his quarterback, how about once in a while coming in on a Monday to look at film.

This situation however is pathetic! Lets reset the situation for a bit. On Wednesday coach Perry Fewell decided to have the first 20 minutes of practice outside. From what I heard, it was pretty dam cold in Buffalo and T.O. was colder than his reality show's ratings. He made no bones about his displeasure with the weather and practicing outside. I should warn you that most of his comments about it sounded very tongue and cheek.

Then came Thursday and Friday, and he couldn't practice because of a mystery "illness." Some members in the media cried foul and wondered if this was just T.O.'s way of bailing out of a cold practice.

I'm not saying T.O. was pretending to be sick. Hell, he could have felt like garbage Thursday and got a little better Friday morning. I'll even give him being sick and practicing football is totally different then driving to watch a game.

However, what I do have a problem with is how this clown decided not to drive to practice and at least watch it. Maybe watch some film, pollish some footballs, take a pass from Brian Brohm. You know, try and be a member of this football team. Now if Owens decided to play hooky, which wouldn't shock me considering he milked the entire preseason with a toe injury, the he's completely dead to me.

Not showing up to practice for a pleasant "how you doing" to fellow players, is not being a good teammate. That's just you doing your own thing because you are completely over being a Buffalo Bill.

Not only that, he's showing up the team and his coaching staff by twittering that he's in Toronto signing autographs for T.O. fans (Sorry, but there's about 10 Bills fans in Toronto these days). Owens twittering his fun adventures, is like someone at the office working his tail off, only to have some jackass worker text you that he's having a Ferris Bueller type of a day. It's going to tick you off!

Perry Fewell, If you really want to get the people of Buffalo really behind you; Bench this clown! Show your boldness. You think Bill Parcells or Bill Cowher would be cool with a player missing practice because he's "sick," only to travel to Toronto for a game? I'm sure T.O. wasn't watching game film in his limo on the way there. He probably was watching reruns of his stupid ass reality show.

Now look, I'm going to play a little Devils Advocate. Would I be as pissed off if Terrell Owens decided to watch the Sabres play against the Leafs? Yes. This is about not being at practice in any form. If T.O. goes to practice and watches, and then decides to leave for Toronto or a Sabres game, or take a private shuttle to the moon, maybe I would be in a better place with it. But showing up his team by not even attending practice is completely unacceptable.

Perry, I know you want this Bills job, but take it from me. You're better off benching the guy and showing the organization and the league that no player is bigger than the team. You can be the first interem coach to ever say enough to Terrell Owens. Hell, it worked for Mike Singletary when he cursed out Vernon Davis and sent him to the locker room during a game.

Forget beating the Patriots, Perry. Show the NFL landscape what other defenses have been doing to Owens, shut him down.

T.O. for next year?

So Terrell Owens says he would entertain the thought of coming back to Buffalo for year two of the T.O. Show. What did you think T.O. was going to say? "Hell no, there's no coach, no quarterback, no offensive line, no nightlife."

It's no surprise that Owens would remain so coy. I'm sure his agent used some Jedi mind tricks to get him to embrace the prospect of coming back to the B-Lo. Any sort of badmouthing of the team or city, would only hurt his value in the open market. We all know the main reason Owens decided to come to Buffalo in the first place was money.

Last year, no team would touch Owens (even if he would give the franchise proceeds to his modeling and television career) because of him being a "cancer" in other locker rooms. But after a year in Buffalo, it has been nothing but lollipops and blown kisses towards everyone in the locker room. Owens has been able to reshape his image (slightly). Money this time around won't be the only factor where T.O. plays, it's going to be about location, location, location.

There's a bunch of factors that are going to determine where Owens ends up calling home in 2010.

First, lets talk money. The only way the Bills could get Owens to come back is if they decide to give him the same 6.5 million dollar salary. We all know that's not going to happen. I just don't see the Bills going out of their way to outbid another team, unless Owens value is so diminished that he only gets about 1.5 million in the open market. I then would look for Rosenahaus to probably get Owens an incentive laden deal. Unless Buffalo gets a top tier quarterback, Owens won't be biting the bit to come back to Buffalo for a deal like that.

Then of course there's the "big fish in a small pond" factor. I don't see T.O. wanting to come back to Buffalo, even if the money is better. We all know Owens is an egomaniac, and he's probably none too happy that his exploits and highlights (lack of) have been reduced to the last segment on Sportscenter.

Another thing working against the Bills is that their on the field product isn't exactly flying high these days. Even if the Bills get a guy like Bill Cowher or Mike Shanahan, the team is going to be rebuilding next year. T.O knows this, and I'm sure he is looking for a sure thing in his next destination.

Look, I won't be all negative on Owens. T.O. had high expectations and was suppose to be the savior coming into this season. But he was nothing more than a band-aid on a gun shot wound. This team was dying before he got here, and died a slow painful death after he arrived. It wasn't all his fault.

Owens did exactly what Russ Brandon and the marketing people at One Bills Drive wanted; sell tickets and faith. Owens may not be what he once was, but I still think he's in the top 15 for wide receivers in the NFL. My biggest problem with Owens was that he went through the motions too many times this season, and should of been in the film room trying to get better, instead of working on his modeling career and flying to Dallas.

As far as Owens coming back to Buffalo next year...Thanks, but no thanks. The team is rebuilding and there's actually a nice crop of young free agents in the wide receiver class for next year.

I'll say this, I don't share the same venom that most fans and some media members (The Bulldog) have for Owens. This was a no-win situation for Owens. Even if the Bills brought in Larry Fitzgerald, the team would have issues getting him the ball.

I might be overvaluing Owens, but at this stage of his career, he's more of a final piece to the puzzle than a puzzle you want to build around. What's more puzzling is that Bills are going 10 years without a playoff birth. At this point, things are so bad for the Bills that they don't even have a jigsaw to add pieces to.

Terrell Owens celebrated his 36th birthday party in NYC

What? Did you think T.O. was going to close down Utopia and have a birthday party in Downtown Buffalo? Doubt that. T.O. celebrated by throwing himself a party in New York City -- $30 general admission, $50 for "V.I.Ps" -- and his mom surprised him by coming to town.

What the hell is VIP treatment suppose to consist of? You get to have a cameo in the "T.O. Show?" Maybe Owens will put you through a banner of tests to see if you can become his new assistant. Seriously, what celebrities would show up to this event? Freddie Mitchell? Roy Williams? Producers from VH1? Stephen A. Smith? Pablo would be there...wohoo!

The funniest thing to me (won't be for Owens), was how nobody cared about him having his party. I remember a couple years ago ESPN and other media outlets were covering his party in Dallas and Philadelphia. Besides a happy birthday mention on PTI, it has become a non-story.

Meet the culprit of T.O.'s hip

Yes, it's very nice that T.O.'s foundation gives needy families free meals, shopping sprees, and fun days. But do you really think I'm gonna blog about that? Notice where the T.O. interview about his foundation takes place..on a couch!

Maybe, Claudia Ewing's big ass caused damage to the couch..I'm sorry, I'm a dick

More crappy journalism

So Owens talks to the press...and did anyone ask him about his agent's comments? NO! NONE! ZIP! my god, maybe I should twitter him and ask him about it. Seriously, what the hell is the press core doing at One Bills Drive? Are they asking the tough questions about whether Biron would make a good back-up goalie or Bryan Scott playing linebacker? Hell, you can't even get them asking about the future of the Bills..Hello??

T.O. should of went shopping at Raymour and Flanigan

So you want to know why T.O.'s hip is hurting him? Well blame his coach...err couch, I mean. T.O. fell asleep on his couch the wrong way and woke up the next morning with a hurt hip. Ugh! Maybe, T.O. had a box of T.O's under his couch cushion? Maybe, he fell asleep on his cellphone while twittering Psalms? Maybe, Flying cross country to Dallas/LA/Buffalo had something to do with it? For god sakes man, I've watched enough MTV Cribs episodes to know they get their dam coach cushions from the people at NASA.

BTW, didn't Owens have issues in training camp with his dam shoes, which caused him to miss 3 preseason games? Dude can get a campy reality show deal, but can't figure out his wardrobe and his interior decorating.

Drew Rosenhaus tells it how it is

We all know Terrell Owens has been pretty quite when it comes to discussing the issues of the Bills. Well, his agent isn't exactly taking the high road when it comes to the Bills problems. Rosenhaus went off about why T.O. has been a no show this season. Of course, it had nothing to do with Owens drops or partying it up in Dallas and NYC.

"It's incredibly frustrating and I think you can basically pin it to three things," Rosenhaus told Joe Rose on WQAM this week. "Number one, coaching. Number two, quarterback play. Trent Edwards has been a disappointment this year, then he got injured and they brought in a backup quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Neither guy has played well."

Rosenhaus was just warming up to what he sees as the biggest issue in Buffalo.

"The offensive line, I believe, is potentially the worst in the NFL. Especially at the tackle position, they got rid of almost every starter from last year, banked on revamping it . . . It's absolutely shocking how that offensive line play has prohibited them from being an effective offense." (Profootballtalk)

Drew, you forgot one person, Ralph Wilson. But all of your points are completely valid. I'm surprised he didn't mention the Bills not using his other client, Roscoe Parrish as the main reason the Bills offense hasn't done anything. I would doubt he'd mention the Bills inability to stop the run as a big issue with the team. Considering Marcus Stroud is one of his clients.

I think the biggest question you have to ask is how much is this really Rosenahaus opinion? It wouldn't shock me if this is Owens speaking through his agent. Everyone knows if Owens talks about the offense sucking, people will use it against him. Everyone knows Owens hasn't changed and he blames everyone else for his problems. In this case, he's using his agent as his puppet.

Rosenahaus is trying to tell fellow teams that the reason why his client is struggling is because of outside distractions. Everyone knows T.O. is gone after this season and his agent is trying to mastermind GM's to think it's all on the Bills for Owens play.

Meanwhile, Owens is in LA and is on the Sunset Strip looking for a place to eat.

Friday Rants

-So Bucky Gleason doesn't seem to be a fan of today's NFL Product. TBN columnist wrote that the NFL is not nearly as interesting as it was years ago because of the large amount of bad teams in the league. I find that line of thinking hypocritical. I bet these are the same columnists (and fans) who bitched about the parity of the NFL over the last 10 years. Are their some bad teams? Yes. But this is also the latest time in an NFL season that we have had 3 undefeated teams. I think the problem is covering the Bills or watching the Bills as a fan has detoured fans of the NFL product. And what's wrong with having a league full of great teams and bad teams? It worked in the 70's and 80's-

-I know I've been acting like a firing squad towards T.O. over the last couple weeks, but on Wednesday Owens spoke about his offensive struggles.  Owens was very upfront and said his numbers were "pathetic" and didn't deflect the blame on any of his teammates or coaches. For the first time ever, Owens was becoming a stand-up guy. Still, I wasn't a big fan of him joking about trying to outdo Roy Williams numbers with Dallas, considering Miles Austin in two games has almost doubled Owens production for the season. I just don't find it appealing that Owens is still playing the disgruntled ex-girlfriend and is more into sending insults to the Cowboys than sending the Bills to over 200 yards in passing (300 yards is unattainable)

-I always find it funny when the WGR website has web polls which make fans pick between the Bills and Sabres product. Today their latest poll was showing that 53% of the fans are more into seeing the Sabres vs Leafs than the World Series and Bills vs Texans this weekend.  It should be noted that the WGR website is more for hockey purists than any other sport. Anyone whose looking forward to the crappy Leafs playing against the Sabres is just smoking out of their homemade hockey stick bong-

-It's about time the Bills decided to sign a FA who actually has started in the NFL. Chris Draft has been a nice pick-up for the Bills. I hope management figures out instead of signing practice squad players they should pony up the extra $100,000 and get a veteran in that can play-

-Was there any reason people made a big deal about whether Tyler Myers was staying or going? Any sports columnist or radio personality who was discussing the topic after his first 5 games as a pro was having a severe case of writers block-

-Don't you find it intriguing how Buffalo fans seem to always embrace "The Other Guy" rather than "That Guy?" A number of fans like Fitzpatrick because he isn't Edwards. Fans adore Tim Kennedy and Tyler Myers because they aren't Max or Derek Roy. It's like the old saying that the back-up QB is the most popular athlete in town. Hmm, it must of came from Buffalo when fans wanted Frank Reigh to start over Jim Kelly-

One More Owens story

Lets face facts, no one in America cares about Terrell Owens anymore. Last week I posted a message from T.O.'s twitter account calling someone a h$mo. I still haven't heard any sort of backlash or coverage about his actions. Yet, Larry Johnson calls reporters fa#$ots and it gets front page treatment on ESPN.com.

Oh poor Terrell, not only is his career in the toilet right now, but he can't even get scrutinized for using a slur. Maybe T.O. will resort to throwing Fitzpatrick, Jauron, or the city of Buffalo under his #81 bus to get some airplay.

I really want to like Owens, but...

He just doesn't seem like he cares anymore. I wanted to buy into your escapades of twittering from the Wendy Williams Show or the Starbucks in New York City. I wanted to buy into your campy reality show and your cereal. But like I wrote during training camp, if you're not doing it on the field than you are dead to me.

Is it just me or does every single deep pass thrown to Owens looks as if that pattern has never been run before? It's as if Owens wants the ball to be delivered perfectly into his hands. God forbid he tries to dive and adjust to the pass.

And what about the drops? Owens had two drops yesterday to go along with his season's goal of having as many drops as catches. Going into the season, we knew this was the knock on Owens, but we thought for every drop there would be a 50 yard touchdown catch. Hasn't happen.

I'm not one to make a big thing about players facial expressions during a game. Hell, when Owens was yelling at his coordinators and QB's over the years it was no different than any other sideline in the NFL. I'd only wish I could see that passion again on the sidelines from Owens. Now Owens is sleep walking through plays and looks as if he's just counting the days down till the end of the year to film his second season of the "T.O. Show."

To make matters worse, the guy seems not interested in trying to better his game. Owens tweeted just now that he is on his way for a much needed R&R in Dallas of all places, to hang out with his former teammates. Um didn't he get enough rest when he took a much needed day off on Friday? He should be looking at film with Fitzpatrick in order to get their timing correct.

To make his National Lampoons Vacations seem more out of whack is that Owens injured his knee in yesterday's game (Via Owens Twitter). Um, shouldn't you be in the trainer's office icing your knee instead of flying 4 hours to Dallas? Does he plan on using the ice from the crystal champagne bottles for his knee? Your getting paid 6.5 million to make plays, not go on wild vacations.

Face facts, Owens doesn't want to be here. That's why he's in Dallas or NYC every other week. It must be tough for the guy to go from playing on "America's Team" and going to a team that doesn't even make the highlight cut on Sportscenter. I'm sure he loves the Buffalo fans passion for the team, but Owens isn't about one city. He's about the country, and we all know the country doesn't give a crap about Buffalo.

There's an old saying that goes "work hard, play harder," I think we all know what part of the saying Owens is obliging to.

Why is Owens on the decline?

So why has Terrell Owens endured such a bad season? It's like asking the question of the chicken or the egg? Is it the Bills offense or Terrell Owens? Yahoo Sports had an article on Owens skills diminishing and painted Owens as an over the hill diva.

Look, do I think Owens skills are on the decline? Yes. But I think at least 75% of it has to do with the shotty QB play he's endured and the Pop Warner type offensive game plan he's following. The stats don't lie. Owens is coming off a decent 1000 yard season with 10 td's, and remember he did all that with Brad Johnson as his QB for 3 games.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a T.O. guy. I think he's only interested in himself and is more interested in being a reality TV star than the Balloon Boy's dad. But if you think it's all on Owens for his decline, just look at the overall offense.

Lee Evans is on pace to catch less than 50 balls this season, the offensive line is on pace to give up 60 sacks, and a first year coordinator is calling the plays. Hell, who exactly is the MVP of this sorry bunch? Jason Peters for deciding he wanted more money? Maybe Turk Schonert for getting himself fired from this mess?

And I haven't even talked about Dick Jauron yet. There's just way too many factors in saying Terrell Owens is finished. The Yahoo article used Marvin Harrison as an example of wides over 35 who suddenly declined. They should of mention most of Harrison's decline was due to injury. For every wide receiever you name who has declined after 35, I could mention Jerry Rice making pro bowls at the age of 39.
I still think in the right situation and QB play, Owens can still be successful. Unfortunately, it more than likely won't be in a Bills uniform.

Um, someone please tell me Owens didn't just call someone a homo?

So I blogged earlier today that T.O. is in NYC attending the Wendy Williams show. Via his facebook page, Owens told his readers that he was at the Union Square Starbucks Coffee shop and told his legion of fans to come on down. Owens then tweeted the following after encountering a fan

Seriously, these guys r nuts!! They hv me crackin up! The 1 guy is claiming 2 get me a gig @ Ford modeling agency b/c he noticed the handsomeness! NO homo!!

Um, OK. Did Owens just issue a slur?

T.O. coming to a talk show near you?

Haven't had a Terrell Owens story in a while, but just thought I share this little nugget. According to T.O.'s facebook page,  Owens is heading to NYC to check out the Wendy Williams show. Not sure if he's going to be on the show or just chilling in the audience. I guess Maury and Springer were booked up for him to share his stories of banging the real estate agent or the party planner from his show. Is AM Buffalo still on? Maybe, he could of chilled out with Linda Pellegrino and made Buffalo Wings.

Where in the world is T.O.?

So remember hearing how Owens takes his preparation and practice habits very serious when it comes to game day? Well that was then, this is now. You see Owens tweeted that he was still in South Florida after the Bills lost, and is currently (as of Tuesday, 2:05pm) boarding a flight back to Buffalo. Judging from his tweets, he was parting it up at a couple of the South Beach local spots over the last two days.

Shouldn't T.O. be in Buffalo working on extra preparation to get his game in order? Look, if the dude was on a roll and was leading the league in TD's, I wouldn't care if he was partying with Kanye West or auditioning for movie roles. But he's not. He's been a complete waste since the regular season started.

And I don't blame all of it on T.O. for deciding not to join the team on the flight back to Buffalo. I blame Jauron and Edwards. If they really cared about winning, they would of told him to get his ass on the plane and look at the film the next day.

Can you picture, Jim Kelly after a 38-10 loss to f#$ken Miami of all teams, saying it's OK for Andre Reed to stay in Miami for 2 days? Hell no, he'd make him get wasted at the Hyatt in Buffalo and look at film the next day hung over (That's no joke).

That is microcosm of the Buffalo Bills franchise, they are extremely passive and don't want to rattle any chains. God forbid you say no to Owens. God forbid you make the players pay and have an intense practice. God forbid you defer on the kickoff. God forbid the Bills go 2-14. God looks as if he's not forbidding the latter.

Will this be the week Mount T.O. erupts?

Call it a gut feeling, but I think Owens is going to have his first eruption on the sideline or after the game this weekend. The reason being is Owens is playing in Miami. Miami to NFL players is like Vegas to Gamblers. Everyone goes there and everyone knows everyone. Owens would love to make an impression in front of the 1000's of Miami-ites.

And lets not forget Owens wants to be an actor and is going to have J.Lo and Mark Anthony (own a share of the team) watching the game. You know he wants to show off to J.Butt, so he can maybe get a cameo in the The Wedding Planner 2 or one of her other corny ass chick movies. If he blows a gasket it's just going to be a question against who.

Week 3 Preview: T.O. vs the local media

OK, we all know that the Bills and their fans have to be disappointed in what T.O. has done so far this year. But you know who may be just as disappointed? The local media. I remember when Owens signed with the Bills in March, Jerry Sullivan blogged about how excited he was that Owens was coming to town.

It had nothing to do with Owens giving the Bills a legit 2nd threat opposite Lee Evans. It had to do with Sully's notebook and pen. Sully was chomping at the bit to interview Owens, along with the majority of the press core in Buffalo.

Flash forward 6 months, and Owens has offered nothing to the Buffalo media besides plugging his reality show and his crappy cereal. And to top it off, he's becoming Mr. Exclusive. Last week, he rubbed a lot of the Buffalo media the wrong way by giving an exclusive interview with the USA Today. During the interview he pretty much bitched and complained about the media.

Then Sunday came, and Owens gave a 2 minute post-game conference where he was short with his answers and his tone with the media. Pretty much he gave nothing to the press core.

But now Mr. Exclusive is at it again. On Monday he gave an exclusive interview to the radio show "Two Live Stews" (Nice fricken name). Of course this will piss off the local press core, because Owens is going national once again, proving he doesn't give a crap about the local media.

Owens was at it again, crying about the media. But this time Owens was turning his attention to how he was asked questions during his 2 minute presser on Sunday.

"[the media] took some more than initiative to try to get me to kind of go down the wrong path. I know the last two teams that I've been on, I felt like I left those teams prematurely due to the media interviews that I've done and things kind of taken out of context, and they created sort of a media whirlwind in the locker room and things kind of went downhill from there. I'm just trying to do the best job I can do as far as answering the questions and trying to be a better teammate and not try to throw people under the bus.''

Look, I'll be the first to admit that Owens soundbites have been taken out of context over the years, but before Owens points the finger to Sully and Paul Hamilton for asking questions, he needs to look in the mirror first.

Owens demeanor when he arrived at the presser was uncalled for. The first question was asking about his thoughts on his catch streak ending. That wasn't the type of question you think would call for him to throw someone under the bus.

Now did the media get testy towards the end of the conference? Yes. But Owens drew first blood, and more importantly he drew it on the local media. If he wants to go after anyone, it's ESPN. Funny, the radio hosts that T.O. appeared with happen to make a number of appearances on ESPN's show, "First Take."

My take is Owens doesn't respect the media in Buffalo. And those who want respect, give respect.

Tony Dungy gets in on the T.O. fun

Terrell Owens isn't exactly making too many friends in Buffalo. You know it's bad when the pope of the NFL, Tony Dungy criticises you. Dungy wasn't much of a fan of Owens for his post-game act after the Bills' loss to the Saints on Sunday.

"You really don't want that,But I think you know that's what you get with Terrell Owens. When things aren't going well, you're going to get stuff like that. That's hard to coach."

Kind of strange that Owens decided to pick a fight with Harrison and ignored the Dungy comments. It's a wise move by Owens. You don't want to mess with the pope and get struck by lightening. Not to mention Dungy is very well respected by his NFL peers, more so than anyone in the league.

Owens vs Harrison vs the fans

Maybe if Owens had say...15 catches and 3 touchdowns for his first 3 games I would find it amusing that he is wasting all of his tweets on Rodney Harrison. But I don't.

Harrison decided to go after T.O. on "Football Night in America" on NBC. Harrison called T.O. a clown, and we aren't talking about the same clown that Henry Hill called Tommy in "Goodfellas."

"He's just a clown, a straight up clown. He's more concerned with individual stats as opposed to the team's success. Just a clown."

This of course got back to Owens, and he's unleashed a tirade on Harrison. Here's a sample from Owens Twitter page:

"I could less about Rodney Harrison! Anybody tht using steroids, yes STEROIDS rodney, is a cheater & cheated the game! Hey rodney! Send me sum steroids 2 the Bills facility next week! Is tht Y u used steroids b/c u were worried about ur stats or ws it b/c u were losing it? Lol! U're a loser & a cheater? Got any steroid?"

Owens was corrected that Harrison wasn't on steroids, but on HGH. That still didn't stop Owens.

"u used HGH nt steroids! So, every1 go ahead & use HGH!! Geez, I guess tht makes it ...So Rodney, I'm thinking if u overnite it 2day, I'll get em by 2morr @ noon. Better yet, mark it Priority!! I "really" wanna b a CHAMPION ..."

Really happy Owens is wasting his Monday talking about what a ex-NFL player thinks of him. Seriously, just get over it. He seems to be more interested in getting a rise out of people than raising his catch totals.

Now again, I don't want my 6.5 million dollar guy wasting his time on his stupid twitter page and fighting with the media, when he only has 5 catches for the year. Get me 10 catches and you can take on the world! Till then, shut up!

And as if T.O. didn't have enough problems with the media. Now the fans are getting on his case, and the funny thing is Owens is responding to their tweets. Here's an example:

From Rob:
"Alright, brah, for real. We get it. You wanna mock Harrison for 'roids. Here's an idea: stop mocking him, and catch the ball."

From T.O.
"well dn't read my posts, dn't follow me then! thanx so much tho"

Well at least he's taking questions from the fans. You know, maybe I'll Tweet T.O. and ask if I can be his personal reporter. Worth a shot, right?

I got your popcorn right here!

Orvel Redenbacher must be rolling over in his grave today. Jerry Sullivan wrote earlier today, that a Bills fan dumped a box of popcorn on Terrell Owens head, while he was walking up the Bills tunnel after the game. I wonder if Kawika Mitchell will twitter again about how Bills fans haven't been on their best behavior over the last 2 weeks.

Maybe next week someone will dump a box of cereal over Owens head. Not a classy way for Bills fans to show their frustration. If you really want to piss Owens off, don't watch his reality show.
