Multiple blogs and online sites are reporting that Mike Vick was spotted on an airplane heading to Boston. The Vick rumors spread to training camp for the Pats where The Hoodie was asked by reporters today if the Patriots were interested in Vick. "Have we ruled it out?I don't know that it's ruled in or ruled out. I don't think it's ever been put that way, so I can't answer that." Hoodie was then pressed more about Vick, "You know, I think we would consider . . . . Well, we're coaching the players we have on the field right now, who's here. Anybody who isn't here . . . is there a potential they could be here?" hmm..
It would be a very interesting move for the Patriots because they can use Vick in spot duty for about 3-5 plays a game (Kind of like Kordell Stewart for the Steelers). Vick would also be a suitable back-up for Tom Brady. An interesting observation in all this is that the Patriots, in my opinion always seem to get less scrutiny when it comes to media coverage. Remember Spygate? ESPN had analysts who were defending them in cheating, saying it wasn't a big deal and that taping walk throughs and coaches signals won't do much for the Pats. All due respect, but spying on a teams practice is worse then taking roids. I'm sure ESPN and their cast of Bostonians will talk about how the Pats have nothing to lose and everything to gain by signing Vick.
In related news, In a Peta office somewhere in America, someone is calling up the troops to go to Boston with pitch forks and torches.
***Update: so much for Vick on a plane to Boston. Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Vick was in West Virgina today for a bankruptcy court hearing. In other related news, Peta is now making a u-turn on the highway to Boston.***
