Quick Thoughts on the NFL Draft revamping its schedule. 1st round to Thursday nights, 2nd and 3rd rounds to Friday Nights, and 4th-7th rounds Saturday morning.
1) Hate it! what happens if you're a Cowboys fan and you don't have a pick in the 1st round? There's no point to watching on Thursday night then. Same goes if your team doesn't have a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Fridays.
2) Fans plan for the weekend event, it's great to go to a bar on your day off to watch the whole day with fans from your team (Bills bar McFaddens in NYC). Now I have to go to a bar on Thursday night, and push some wall street or frat guy whose there for happy hour out of my way to watch. And what if you have to work late that night or want to go to the draft? NFL.. always concerned about corporate America.
3) The NFL did it because of prime-time ratings and selling expensive add time. But why not just make the first round Thursday night (for your add time) and the rest on Saturday and Sunday. The weekends matter people!
