Browns coordinator calls out Edwards

Going into the season everyone would of thought the war of words between the Bills opposition would be towards Terrell Owens. Wrong.

Rex Ryan's twin brother, Rob, who is the Cleveland Browns' defensive coordinator, doesn't think to fondly of Trent Edwards.

"I don't think that's Carson Palmer back there by any stretch.''

Dam! WTF did Trent Edwards do to Ryan in a past life? In case you thought maybe Ryan was just joking about Palmer and Edwards comparison, he wasn't

"Absolutely. He's not,'' Ryan said. "Not too many quarterbacks are. The guy can run and do some things, but we've played Brett Favre, we've played Carson Palmer. Those are two pretty good quarterbacks right there. This guy [Edwards] always seems to have a lot to say, so I'm going to say the same thing. Let's go. Let's get it on, see what he's all about this week.''

When the hell did Trent Edwards start talking s#$t? The guy doesn't even call out the waitress who brings him the wrong food at a restaurant.

Allen Wilson of The Buffalo News, reported that Ryan said Edwards had some disparaging remarks about the Raiders defense from last year's 19-17 win. Wilson says he couldn't find any quotes from last year's game to support Ryan's statement. Maybe Edwards was talking smack during the game? (On a side note, this was the game that put over Wilson giving Jauron a contract extension)

The funny thing in all this is Ryan's boss, Eric Mangini, isn't the type of guy who gives bulletin board material to anyone.

You can only bet that Rob is taking a page out of his brother's book in talking S$%t. Remember, Rex had NYC by the balls by just talking up a storm in the offseason, maybe Rob sees that as a way to get an NFL head coaching job. Have to admire the moxie of Ryan. Unfortunately, his defense doesn't have Bart Scott and Chris Jenkins on it like his brother's team.

But all this trash talk adds more pressure to Trent Edwards and Dick Jauron. Ryan is the anti-Jauron. He's a loud mouth and is the type of coach Bills fans would love to have. I've seen in some chats and message boards that fans wouldn't mind seeing Rob Ryan coach the Bills.

As for Edwards, If the Bills lose to the Browns people will call out Edwards for his Jauron like demeanor and not caring about what others think of him. If the Browns defense (ranked last BTW) shows up on Sunday, look for Bills fans have a bigger male crush on Rob Ryan.
