Could my bitterness towards the Sabres be coming to an end?

Look, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bigger Bills fan than a Sabres fan. I'm a little south of 30 years old and grew up watching both teams. Obviously, during my childhood the Bills were more successful than the Sabres. I enjoyed watching the Sabres play during the 90's, but I bled with the Bills more so than the Sabres. Now that I have my cheering roots out of the way, I still can judge what organization I feel is a bigger joke.

If you were to ask me in July what organization I liked more, the Bills or Sabres? I would of gone with the Bills. At the time, I was still very bitter towards Sabres management refusing to make any changes to their team. I was also still a little disgruntled on how they dealt with the dealings of Drury and Briere. Of course, having Larry Quinn as your team's spokesman adds insult to injury.

As for the Bills, I felt they were doing a lot with the T.O. signing and maybe I got caught up in the whole Ralph Wilson getting inducted into the HOF.

Fast forward to November and the roles have become reverse. The Bills are a disaster and more than ever it doesn't seem that there is any hope on the horizon. The Sabres..ehh..I'm almost going to forgive you.

It took me almost 2 years to get over the crap you put me through. I still have my reservations as far as where you are going as a team. But you have my attention. I'm quite close to finally getting over my first crush (Drury and Briere) and moving on.

But lets be frank. The only reason I'm going to forgive you is because the Bills are as dysfunctional as ever. Call it being a bandwagon fan if you wish. But at the end of the day, I think it's more about forgiving and forgetting more so than cheering for the better team.

The Sabres organization is in good position in trying to sway Buffalo fans towards them. If they can keep up the winning, maybe they will be able to overtake the Bills as the toast of the town.

Now of course, if this team tanks it in November, then I'm going to be bringing up my disdain towards Quinn and company.
