Why Twitter is cool for sports fans

I know I've been joking around with some of the Bills player's Tweets on Twitter, but Twitter is proving more and more to me why it's a dream for sports fans. T.O. just commented that he is teaching the ways of the force to a new apprentice. "here n my room talking 2 james hard. he's hungry 4 knowledge of how i become who i am. this is so gr8 2 me, i ws 'this guy' 13-14 yrs ago," twitted Owens.

T.O. then went on to Tweet that his old apprentice taught him the ways of the force, "I ws this guy yrs ago, altho jerry rice taught me alot i never sat n the room & ask the ?s he's asking but i'm sure jerry would hv done it." That my friends is why twitter is going to change the landscape of getting sports info.

T.O. Daily

The T.O. show may be doing good ratings wise for VH1, but a lot of fans across America aren't tuning in because they love him. Yahoo.com released a survey saying that the flamboyant wide receiver is the 4th most disliked athlete in America.  Mike Vick, Manny Ramierz, and A-rod rounded out the top 3 in order. Not too surprising considering he has been thrown off 3 teams and ESPN analysts have made the topic of Owens as its 5th major sport when it came to criticizing the player (As Parcells use to call him).

-In other camp news, it must of been high school ditch Fridays at Bills camp. Not participating in work outs were Terrell Owens, Trent Edwards, Lee Evans, Aaron Schobel, Terrence McGee, John McCargo, and Shawn Nelson. No word yet if the class went to a baseball game or sneaked into an "R" rated movie.

Mike Vick to the Pats?

Multiple blogs and online sites are reporting that Mike Vick was spotted on an airplane heading to Boston. The Vick rumors spread to training camp for the Pats where The Hoodie was asked by reporters today if the Patriots were interested in Vick. "Have we ruled it out?I don't know that it's ruled in or ruled out. I don't think it's ever been put that way, so I can't answer that." Hoodie was then pressed more about Vick, "You know, I think we would consider . . . . Well, we're coaching the players we have on the field right now, who's here. Anybody who isn't here . . . is there a potential they could be here?" hmm..

It would be a very interesting move for the Patriots because they can use Vick in spot duty for about 3-5 plays a game (Kind of like Kordell Stewart for the Steelers). Vick would also be a suitable back-up for Tom Brady. An interesting observation in all this is that the Patriots, in my opinion always seem to get less scrutiny when it comes to media coverage. Remember Spygate? ESPN had analysts who were defending them in cheating, saying it wasn't a big deal and that taping walk throughs and coaches signals won't do much for the Pats. All due respect, but spying on a teams practice is worse then taking roids. I'm sure ESPN and their cast of Bostonians will talk about how the Pats have nothing to lose and everything to gain by signing Vick.

In related news, In a Peta office somewhere in America, someone is calling up the troops to go to Boston with pitch forks and torches.

***Update: so much for Vick on a plane to Boston. Profootballtalk.com is reporting that Vick was in West Virgina today for a bankruptcy court hearing. In other related news, Peta is now making a u-turn on the highway to Boston.***

Top 5: How would I run the Bills

My lifelong Dream

Before you start thinking that I'm going to state the obvious; fire everyone and hire Bill Parcells, trade for Tom Brady, hire Jim Kelly as GM. This is not the case. This blog is about owning the Bills through a business prospective. None of this has to do with anything on the field. It has to do with making the team more economically viable. Hate to say it fans, but this team is in danger of moving when Mr. Wilson goes to that big owner box in the sky. So, I'm going to run the team the best way I can to make it stay in Buffalo forever.

1)Fire Toronto Organizers!

No, I'm not talking about getting rid of games in Toronto. Buffalo needs Toronto more than they need a left tackle or quarterback. The Bills are right in trying to regionalize the team by having a game north of the border. I've said it before, it's all about luxury boxes when it comes to making money for an NFL team. However, if you're going to play one game a year in Toronto, lets try and make it into a huge event! The last two Toronto games have been terrible I'm not talking about the Bills epic offensive explosions against the Dolphins and Jets. I'm talking about the pregame festivities.

Lets start with the national anthem. Two years ago, the organizers got some no-name person, who made the American Idol audition look like a Night at the Opera. The singer couldn't carry a tune and ended up butchering "Oh Canada." That's a great start to making this partnership work with Toronto. I would get any sort of Canadian singer to perform the national anthem (Alanis Morrisette, Goo Goo Dolls, the guy who sings Oh Canada at hockey games). Next on the agenda list, doing some sort of ceremonial coin toss. Did they even have a coin toss last year? Did they flip a hockey puck in the air? Lets give a call to some old Canadian hockey players or even Doug Flutie to do the coin toss. Canadians love Mr. Mullet and Hockey. If memory serves me ets not forget what the Bills had for pregame entertainment. Ah yes, Bag Pipes. Awesome! How about having The NFL Experience that they have during training camp for the weekend. And while we are at it, lets move the Bills practices for that week to Toronto and have an open practice or two during the week. Make it like a Super Bowl week, if a week is too much make it a weekend event.

2)Renovate Ralph Wilson Stadium

About a month ago, I took in a game at both new baseball stadiums in NYC. I was blown away at how nice these stadiums were. 2 things stuck with me the most, The food courts and the nostalgia. At Citi Field they had an outdoor food court that had 15 places to eat from. I'm talking hot dogs, sushi, steaks, salads, and 20 tap beers. I thought to myself, if the Ralph had this type of food area it would be such a money maker. If there's one thing missing from the game day experience at Bills games, it's the fact that the food is terrible. This isn't 1983 where hot dogs were the norm. I would design a food court right in the stadium where fans can sit and maybe eat and watch the game on a few TV screens. While we are at it, why not put a restaurant Ala the Hard Rock at Skydome to watch over the field. I've said it once I'll say it again, Buffalo is a drinking and eating town. And considering a lot of Buffalonians feel they have the best food around, why not give it to them on game day.

As for the Nostalgia, The New Yankee Stadium has a beautiful museum to go along with monument park. I think the Buffalo fans deserve to look at history. How about a game worn jersey that Jim Kelly wore or a giant statue of Bruce Smith. I'm going to build a Bills restaurant and have memorabilia and games for the kids. It's time for the game day experience to be more then just getting wasted and watching football. How about getting wasted off German stout and eating sushi, while walking through the Bills museum. Now we are talking!

3)Fashion makeover

I promise you, I will never utter the words fashion makeover ever again on this blog. But I know what the fans want. They want the vintage 1959 uniforms. So I'll give it to you! And guess what your 3rd jersey would be? How about the 90's Bills blues? Don't get me wrong, I can't stand when fans complain about uniforms. It makes me want to gargle Drano when I hear someone talk about the old Blue & Gold jerseys. But I gotta do it for the people. Since I hate talking uniforms, this top 5 paragraph is going to end..now.

4)New Name

Well you know it can't be all fun and games on this topic. Ralph Wilson Stadium is no more. Hello, New Era Stadium. Has a nice ring to it. As much as the traditionalists hate this idea, I have to do it. But at least you will get the old uniforms back to hold onto the past. But in all honesty this change is long overdue especially since Ralph Wilson has complained more than any owner about not making enough money. The Washington Redskins get 7.6 million dollars a year from Fed Ex for the naming rights. Maybe that's a drop in the bucket for Ralph (so he says), but I can get my museum and food court off the ground and running, and maybe throw in a baseball cap day at the stadium, excuse me, New Era Stadium. And don't worry Mr. Wilson, I will be sure to name the restaurant and rename the Wall of Fame after you.

5)This is tough

Man, I hate to do this. But that $51.24 average ticket price, has to go up. We are talking at least 30%. Don't worry, I'm going to try and find cheap seats for you in the Rock Pile, but if you're sitting 50 yard line and 3 rows up, you better be a lawyer. I firmly believe that people in Buffalo will pay an arm and a leg when it comes to tickets for the Bills. You just don't sell out season tickets during the summer because tickets happen to be the cheapest in the league. It's because you love going to games. But I'm also going to find other ways to make your game day experience better. How about paying $350 dollars to watch the game from the sideline? You can hangout by the tunnel and see all the players come onto the field and practically touch the action. I'd spend $350 on that. But I know you are still not feeling the ticket price. But all you have to do is look crosstown. If the Sabres can charge $200 for tickets against the Maple Leafs, Then I think I can charge $75 for a game ticket.

Man, owning the Bills is a lot of work and I'm not even talking about the product on the field. But I believe it's time for the organization to keep up with the Jones and start selling the stadium experience as much as the product on the field. I think the fans would enjoy all these changes. People love change, hell when Crispy Cream Donuts opened in Buffalo there was a 45 minute wait to get donuts. I assure you my changes will make the fans go nuts.

T.O. Daily: Now you can have T.O. for breakfast

Cue Music: "Tops never stops, saving you more. Tops never stops, look what T.O.'s got." Remember that terrible song during the 90's. Well Tops is making a comeback. T.O. formally introduced his new cereal, T.O.'s Honey Toasted Oats sold exclusively at all Tops Markets. Chris Brown, of Bills.com reported that the scene at the store was completely nuts. Fans were screaming during the media question/answer period of the press conference, to the point where fans threw the police barricade to the ground. People, it's Honey Nut Cheerios, not a Wonka bar.

- Cereal wasn't the only thing on Owens mind today. During the end of his cereal press conference a fan asked T.O. if they were going to beat the Patriots in week one. Owens said, "It's not going to be an easy game for New England. Trust me." Owens must of not seen old Bills games of how Jauron coaches against Bill Belickick (Just kidding, sort of). I like the confidence Owens is bringing to the team and it's something that has been lacking for far too long.

NHL accepts Reinsdorf's bid to buy the Coyotes

As if we didn't know this was going to happen. The NHL has accepted Jerry Reinsdorf's bid to buy the Phoenix Coyotes and rejected the offer that Jim Balsille made. The funniest part of the report was that Gary Bettman said that the approval of Reinsdorf had absolutely nothing to with relocation. Yea right. Balsille's offer was more then 100 million dollars more than that of Reinsdorf's, with of course the catch being he would move the team to Hamilton, Ontario. I'm guessing that was the straw that broke the camels back on that offer.

Just to make it clear what my thoughts on the whole Hamilton/Phoenix fiasco is. As a fan, It would be great to have 3 NHL teams in about an hour radius from each other. It would make the match-ups better between the Sabres, Leafs, and Hamilton as cross town rivals. But I'm with the league on this one. The league's biggest goal is to try and sell hockey to the States. Hockey is hook, lined, and sinker when it comes to Hamilton, ON. Not to mention Hamilton is like 25 minutes away from Toronto.

The Coyotes have been a laughing stock in NHL for years. No playoffs since 2002, no playoff series wins since the Winnipeg days. Look at their coach Wayne Gretzky, who should kiss his Stanley Cup rings every night because that's the only reason he still has a job. His claim to fame the last 5 years was his Police Academy wife having a gambling problem (had she bet against the Coyotes, her problem would be counting all the money she had won).

Now I know some off you may be thinking, "Phoenix doesn't sell out games and are bankrupt, forget those people." Well, he who has not sin cast the first stone. Remember the late 90's and earlier this decade? The Sabres only sold out games against Toronto and Montreal, because half the crowd was Canadian. Their jerseys weren't even close to being the top seller in the league, and the team was in bankruptcy and scandal. The casual Buffalo Sports fan's mentality was, "wake me up when football season is over" when it came to the Sabres. You want to know what got the fans to go party in the plaza and wait on a list of 15,000 for season tickets? WINNING!

That's how you sell a sport to a market. Tampa Bay during its Stanley Cup run were selling out games left and right. Now they can't give away tickets because they suck. And don't look now Buffalo fans, but that waiting list has shrunk since not making the playoffs the last 2 years. So before you say forget the desert, always remember what you were doing for Sabres games in 2003 and then tell me hockey can't be sold down south.

Does Peter King watch Bills games?

Nice head shot bro

Don't get me wrong, I love Peter King. If there was a Mount Everest of sports writers, he would be on it. But he has made some very strange observations on the Bills over the year.

1) At this time last year King said that the key to the Bills season was how James Hardy would play. When exactly was the last time a rookie wide receiver picked in the 2nd round made an impact on a team?
2) King then picked Trent Edwards last year as his first quarter MVP of the season. Edwards numbers weren't even close to being MVP type and played against some crappy competition.
3) King was on WGR this week, and pretty much stated that he didn't think Jauron should get fired, he did however state that he isn't around the team on a everyday basis to make a firm choice. That's a tad obscure and a poor reason to not have a distinctive opinion.

But the kicker was what he wrote on his SI.com Bills training camp report . He spent a good two paragraphs pleading for the Bills to get the ball into Roscoe Parrish's hands at least 150 times this year. Does King realize that Parrish has missed 9 games in 4 seasons with the Bills and when he was called upon to start opposite of Evans last year he caught 8 passes in 3 games. I'm tired of the "waiting for Roscoe Parish to break out" talk. He is what he is, a great punt returner.

But the bigger picture is listening to national pundits talk about your team. Don't get me wrong King has a very tough job covering all 32 NFL teams, the league happenings, and interviewing 100's of players. And I don't mean to single him out, but I'd take what Mark Gaughan says about the Bills more serious than what Peter King thinks of them. It reminds me of the Flutie days during the 1999 season, when the national media loved him and always thought he was the reason the Bills were in contention for the playoffs, when in actuality Flutie struggled during that year and the defense was the one that held the team together.

I feel that some of the national media experts don't watch all the games every week and only watch highlights and read the box scores. Nowadays the coverage of NFL Teams has shrunk to just covering big market teams (how many times do we need to see Ed Werner at Valley Ranch?). King and guys like Mort and Clayton may be the kings of the NFL media, but when it comes to overseeing the the smaller colonies in the country, I'd rather take the mayor (WGR & BTN) then the president as my leader.

Retrospect: Evans & T.O. vs Reed & Lofton

Both Duo's stats don't tell the story

Since most Bills fans always get gushy and teary eye when they think of the 90's Bills. Let me use a little name association. James Lofton and Andre Reed. Both hall of famer's (Reed is in my book) games were very complimentary towards each other. Reed was the go over the middle guy whose claim to fame was his yards after the catch. The dude was tough as nails and made a living off breaking tackles and taking it to the house. James Lofton on the other hand was all about speed. Growing up as kid I can remember watching Lofton make it look so easy. Kelly would just air it out as far as he can and Lofton wouldn't even look back at the ball. He would always make the same over the shoulder catch for 50 yards and a touchdown. The two of them played together for 3 years and combined for 350 catches, 5,541 yards, and 39 touchdowns, which ranked #1 for wide receiving duos in the NFL for that stretch. I'm sure you readers know where I'm going with this. Comparing Lofton and Reed to Owens and Evans. But the stats don't tell the story about what both duos had in common.

Lofton was going on his 3rd team in five years and his best days seemed to be ancient history. Lofton was drafted 6th overall in the 1978 draft by the Packers. The future hall of famer had a very successful run with Pack for 9 years and average an eye popping 18 yards a catch and almost 10,000 yards receiving. Lofton was then signed off plan B by the Raiders in 1987. Lofton's numbers slid to only 1,329 yards receiving in two years with LA. The Raiders thought Lofton's days were numbered and was subsequently cut during the 1989 season. At the age of 34 and in the twilight of his career the Bills took a chance. Lofton wasn't expecting to make much of an impact let alone make the Bills team. Terrell Owens doesn't have to worry about making the roster but like Lofton, T.O. is in his mid 30's (35) and people are saying his best days are numbered.

Andre Reed on the other hand was entering his 6th season in the NFL and was just coming off his first pro bowl and 1,000 yard season. But the Bills lacked a play making number 2 wide receiver, hell I'll go one better then lack, they were god awful. Their 2nd leading wide receiver was the immortal Flip Johnson, who had 25 catches for 303 yards. More importantly, Reed had struggled down the stretch of the 89' season, catching just 23 passes for 336 yards in the team's last 5 games. Reed's issue was that teams knew he was the Bills biggest weapon in the passing game, and when teams doubled Reed there was no way Flipper Johnson was going to make them pay. Like Reed, Lee Evans is going into his 6th season and has been a victim of the double team and not having a legit number two receiving threat.

Lofton and Reed were match made in heaven and more importantly they needed each other. Reed was looking for that edge to put him in elite status in the NFL, while Lofton was looking for one more day in the sun. Lee Evans has always been the guy everyone outside of Buffalo knew was a special player, but hasn't been able to make that jump from a good wide receiver to an elite one. Owens may not be in the same "left for dead" situation as Lofton was, but his critics have been on him for dropped passes and his skills not being what they once were.

Owens has the same game that Reed had (working the middle), and has the same chip on his shoulder that Lofton had trying to prove that he still got it. Evans has been that deep ball threat that Lofton was, and is just entering his prime as Reed did. Going into this season you have to wonder, who needs each other more, Evans or Owens? I really can't answer that question, but I can tell you who needs that duo the most. They happen to be the same team Lofton and Reed played for.

Jairus Byrd out for 2 weeks

The Buffalo News is reporting that the Bills 2nd round pick Jarius Byrd will miss at least 2 weeks after having sports hernia surgery earlier this month. Byrd is still unsigned by the Bills and the coaching staff was hoping to convert the cornerback to a starting free safety. Byrd was second among draft picks last year with 17 career interceptions at Oregon. Trying to fit Byrd in the starting line-up would be a good move, considering the Bills had zero interceptions between starting safeties Donte Whitner and Byran Scott.

-In other camp news, it's finally official Eric Wood has signed with the Bills giving the team only 2 more draft picks to sign (Byrd & Maybin).-

-Chris Brown of Bills.com is reporting that the Bills worked out former Patriots and Chargers receiver Reche Caldwell. The Bills are getting thin at wide receiver during training camp with 4 of their 10 receivers not participating in drills. Caldwell's best season was in 2006 with the Patriots when he 61 catches and 4 td's. Remember those days when the Patriots didn't have wide outs? -

Parrish isn't happy

"Coming into my fifth year, I should be a superstar wide receiver, not a punt returner." Huh??

When did Roscoe become Owens. That wasn't all the superstar wide...err..punt returner said in an interview with Tim Graham of ESPN. Parrish told Graham that when he heard that Owens had signed with the Bills he asked his agent to request a trade. Parrish also said that he isn't the type of player who wants to bring the negative issues he has with the team to camp. Uh, Roscoe, you just did by telling a reporter you wanted to get traded.

The funniest part of the story was Tim Graham's interview with Santana Moss of the Redskins (also from Roscoe's college, Miami U). Moss told Graham, that Parrish has all the talent in the world and has all these explosive plays inside him, if he is given the opportunity. News flash for Santana, Roscoe had those opportunities. When Josh Reed went down for 3 games last year who do you think took his place as the number 2 wide receiver? Mr. Superstar caught 8 passes in those 3 games for 100 yards and no TD's. Of course, Moss is going to have Roscoe's back when it comes to how great of a player he is. They both went to the University of Miami and you know how those players over hype each other as the 33rd NFL team.

Parish also went on to give examples of smaller players in the league who have made an impact (DeSean Jackson, Steve Smith, and Eddie Royal). Parrish can say all he wants that he should be a superstar, but it seems like every year when he has his moment to step in for an injured Josh Reed or Peerless Price, he does little to show for it. Parrish, himself has had to deal with the injury bug missing 9 games in his first 4 years with the Bills. Steve Smith may be your size Roscoe, but so was Dante Hall. Now who does Parrish remind you of?

Sabres NOT raising ticket prices

This must of been a part of Mr. Mulliquinn's top to bottom greatest team evaluation since Pete Rose was accused of gambling. The Buffalo News is reporting that the Sabres will stand pat with their ticket prices.  The Sabres also announced 5 new mini packs. Some of the packs range from having 5 Friday night games to games versus the original 6 teams. Seriously, how many more packs do you fricken need? What's next? Games against teams who are from Florida, or teams who have less pay roll then we do?

The highest price of a ticket goes for $233 for a platinum game against the Leafs, with the lowest being $23 for a bronze game (which would be like seeing Portland or Tampa).

Bills sign second first round pick

The Buffalo News is reporting that the Bills have reached an agreement in principal with their 2nd first round pick offensive lineman Eric Wood. Terms were not available, but it is believed to be a five year 12 million dollar deal. Wood has only missed 4 days of practice and should be available for the Bills first preseason game on August 9th. In just 5 days the Bills have signed 3 of their draft picks and only need to sign Aaron Maybin and Jarius Byrd. Lets Hope Wood and other signed draft pick Andy Levitre (not Viagra) knock Kirk Chambers and Seth McKinney out of the Bills starting line up.

Top 5: Who will make Mount T.O. Erupt?

"You're all mine!"

So over the weekend I saw the movie Orphan (great movie btw). In a nut shell the movie is like The Good Son (remember Macaulay Culkin) where this orphan, Esther is really f#$%ed up and she tries to make everyone's life a living hell. Esther at first, made everyone in her family love her and then for whatever reason she decided to go after people. One of the ways Esther did this was pitting people in her life against her enemies. You know the story, Esther making the dad feel that the mom is against her and that her brother is jealous. Sounds a little like T.O. is playing Esther, Jerry Jones is playing the dad, and the mom and brother are Tony Romo and Jason Witten. And just like in "Orphan" all of her enemies loved her at first and then got to know the real Esther. T.O. and Esther are splitters. Them vs. us, with "them" normally winning the war.
Now of course, I'm not saying Terrell Owens is trying to literally kill his football team, but the manipulation tricks that Esther shows have a similar ring to what Owens has done. Every place that T.O. has gone, he has not only thrown someone under the bus, but he has also made a ton of friends. I remember after he was suspended indefinite with the Eagles and about 2 weeks later, half the team was on red carpet going to his extravagant birthday party. His teammates were all touting Owens as a great teammate and even some came to the defense of his banishment.

Owens has thrown a whose who of players under the bus over the years. Tony Romo, Donovan McNabb, Jeff Garcia, he even threw the Eagles "badassor," Hugh Douglas down on the ground in the weight room. I'll give Owens the benefit of the doubt, he has a tendency to always be on his best behavior the first year at his new address. But it doesn't hurt to try and make an educated guess on who is going to come aboard or get run over the T.O. Express train. Let the Eruption begin.

1)You wanted weapons?

Now you get a weapon that can kill you. Every place T.O. has gone it's the same story. He can't get along with his quarterback. First it was Owens implying that Jeff Garcia was gay, and then complaining about Garcia's lack of arm strength. Then it was Owens ticked off about McNabb not backing him when he wanted a new deal from the Eagles. Their egos also got in the way of each other when it came to who was the toast of the City of Brotherly Love. Then the Romo relationship seemed great on the surface the first 2 years (hey, he even paid for Romo and Simpson to go to Mexico), but his last year was all about T.O. allegedly being jealous of Romo's relationship with Witten (see all the Esther's parells?).

So how can Edwards learn from all his predecessor's problems? Give it right back to Owens. That is where all of Owens quarterbacks have failed. They've all allowed him to run them over. Edwards has to have the mentality of, "hey if I go down, I'm taking you with me." Of course getting Owens the ball as much as possible wouldn't hurt either.

Odds of a T.O. Eruption: 16/1: Edwards has the whole this is T.O.'s first year with the team scenario going for him. If this was their second year together, the odds would be a lot better. I also have a lot of confidence that this will be Edwards year to shine and T.O. will bring out the best in him on the field like he did with McNabb and Romo (Right before Esther..er, T.O. gets pissed off at them)

2)Is Turk turkey?

Next to Dick Jauron, Turk Schonert is under the most pressure of the coaching staff. Sure he's only in his second year as an offensive coordinator (how sad, took him 17 years of coaching to get his first crack at that job), but Schonert knows that it's his calls that are going to decide who gets the football. Schonert had a better first year as a coordinator then his last two predecessors Steve Fairchild and Tom Clements (just had chills thinking about Kelly Holcomb). But Schonert made some strange calls in crucial moments of Bills games last year. Who can forget him going conservative on the last drive against Cleveland and the call for JP Losman to roll out against the Jets. You think T.O. is going to be P.C. if those type of plays are called? Get the Bus rev up for that one.

Owens has a history of run ins with his coordinators. Remember him telling off 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Knapp on the sidelines, and telling then Eagles Offensive coordintaor Brad Childress not to speak to him unless spoken to. Classic! And of course, the latest in the mini series "As the T.O. World Turns," he claimed that Jason Garrett was showing favoritism towards getting the ball to Jason Witten (Esther strikes again). Well Turk, hate to say this but T.O.'s former coordinators have a better offensive resume then you do.

Odds of a T.O. Eruption: 8/1: This is the biggest chance of an eruption. T.O. has gone off on coordinators who were part of an established offense. When you look at the quarterbacks Schonert has coached over the years: Chris Weinke, Kelly Holcomb, Rob Johnson, and Craig Erickson, you know you got issues.

3)This isn't Bill Parcells

Owens for the most part has gotten along with his head coaches. Wade Phillips said Owens was a great player to coach. Even Parcells was very coy during his only season with the wide out (you can't forget that Sunday night game when Parcells and TO were making nice). Owens venom with the Eagles was more towards McNabb and ownership for not reworking his contract. The only time Owens had a huge issue with a head coach was with Steve Mariucci. Owens two biggest beefs with Mariucci was when he suspended him a game for his celebration against the Cowboys. The second was when Owens accused Mariucci of going easy, on then coach and friend Dick Jauron (hmm) during a game against the Bears.

There's no denying that Owens has had some coaches with a lot of NFL success, but Dick Jauron doesn't have the same clout as Reid and Parcells do. And since Owens has a hard time respecting people, how can you blame him for not respecting a coach that has one winning season in 7 years. The one thing Jauron does have going for him is that he's known to be a players coach and everyone loves him. But so was Steve Mariucci.

Odds of a T.O. Eruption: 24/1: Jauron has the players coach thing going for him. Not to mention it would be harder for T.O. to sway the locker room to go against someone they all love (that's what happens with having easy practices).

4)Whose the #1 option?

You want to talk about being different? T.O. and Lee Evans are about as different as Bill Maher and the Pope. Evans is the strong silent type guy who when he celebrates scoring a touchdown he just flips the ball to the official (Even hockey players think that celebration is dull). Evans most controversial statement he made was backing JP Losman when the Bills decided to bench in him in favor of Edwards. That's about as controversial as Chris Berman inducting Ralph Wilson into the HOF. The big question is what will happen if Evans pulls a Witten, and becomes the favorite target of Edwards. We all know how Esther..er T.O. gets when someone is getting more attention then he does. Lets not forget that Edwards still has Lynch, Reed, and Parish to throw too. At least Evans is use to having a wide receiver along side him demanding the ball (Remember Eric Moulds tirades?)

Odds of a T.O. Eruption: 32/1: This is all on Evans. Evans persona works well with T.O.'s in that he really doesn't have one. If T.O. goes off about not getting the ball enough, I'm sure Evans won't fall into that verbal trap.

5)This could get interesting

I mentioned this before on a previous post, if the Bills start out of the gates slow you know that the majority of the players will be PC. But what about former players who have radio show spots? Kelly and Thomas have been a fixture on the Buffalo air waves for quite a few years now. I don't expect either of them to give Owens the same treatment that former Cowboy, Michael Irvin gave to Owens. You know how the media works. If no one is calling out Owens they will go to the next best option. Kelly and Thomas in some aspects are former athletes who love to be in the spotlight. It may be too good of an opportunity to pass on criticising Owens. All they need to say is Owens main concern should be winning games. Once they say that the media will start playing the telephone game in high school, and before you know it, it's on. It happened the same way with Bill Parcells and Keyshawn Johnson when they were at ESPN.

Odds of a T.O. Eruption: 40/1: OK, so I put this up because no one has thought of it. But it's possible if T.O. does something controversial because the players have been trained to ignore it. And Owens gets off on people talking about him. Most likely Kelly and Thomas will play the PC role when it comes to talking about Owens. But you never know.

Best of the Rest:
Owens vs City of Buffalo-You know if the Bills stink the fans need to find a scapegoat.
Owens vs Mr. Wilson- Owens could make fun of Ralph's old age
Owens vs his PR assistants- why not? they are awful

-Joe-
"would you hook up with Esther?"
