The WGR morning show had Jerry Sullivan on today, and one of the topics brought up was how Marshawn Lynch's suspension could open up a running back controversy with Fred Jackson. It's definitely a interesting point. I'll say this, it wouldn't shock me if Jackson gets off to a fast start and the Bills keep him atop the depth chart. Besides the on the field play being a factor in that decision, there is also the off the field issues. Lynch is one more run-in with the law from being suspended for a lot longer than 3 games. The Bills may not want to risk Lynch's off the field issues and may be looking to pass the torch to Jackson. The other issue is Jackson is signed for another 4 years at a very modest salary. Lynch has 3 years left on his rookie deal and may go the Willis McGahee route and ask for a new contract before his rookie deal finishes. It's a situation that is worth keeping an eye on.
