Marv Levy backs Jauron, what a shock

Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy has thrown his support behind beleaguered Buffalo Bills coach Dick Jauron. Levy, the club's general manager when Jauron was brought aboard four seasons ago, told WGRZ that owner Ralph Wilson should stay the course with Jauron.

"It's not over, They're reeling. The Bills' best chance, in my opinion, is to go forth with the way Dick Jauron will coach the team. I believe Dick Jauron has the type of character and will convey that to the players on this team that will give them the best chance to rebound."

Mind of Joe
I know most Bills fans say that Tom Donahoe screwed over the franchise the most during the decade. But Levy sure as hell comes a pretty close second in my opinion. From signing and drafting smart players who can't get it done on the field, his biggest black eye was the hiring of Dick Jauron. Rumor has it that Wilson wanted Mike Sherman (former Packers coach) over Jauron, but Levy pushed Wilson to hire Dick. Didn't like the choice then, and really hate the choice now.

But back to Levy's quote, does it really shock you that he's backing the guy he hired? Of course not. Levy even went on to say that Bills fans should have patience because of the injuries and the devastation of the offensive line. Um, Marv? Whose fault is it that the offensive line is in disarray? Last I checked, the boatload of money YOU gave to Langston Walker and Derek Dockery sure as hell wasn't money well spent.

But this line of excuses doesn't bold well for Bills fans, because if Wilson doesn't want to buyout Jauron's contract, I'm sure the PR people will be releasing quotes like this to fans and the media.
