Man, I have seen some bad Bills offensive lines over the years. From Jerry Ostroski and Corey Louchey to Tuten Reyes and Mike Gandy. But I can't think of a time the Bills O-line has been this deplorable.
The Bills offensive line has been in shambles over the last 2 weeks. But that's what you get when you decide not to invest in the line, and ask guys who have never started an NFL game to be your starters. But this line didn't go down hill in week 2 with the Demetrius Bell injury. It went down hill in March.
I was one of the few Bills fans who thought the Bills were stupid in trading Jason Peters. You don't trade all-pro left tackles. Especially if you're the Bills, whose best tackles in the last decade have been Mike Williams and Mike Gandy.
But management was happy to oblige Peters contract demands by trading him, and now they are..scratch that..Trent Edwards is paying for it. Throw in the Langston Walker fiasco and not wanting to sign Jon Runyan, and your asking the Bills line coach to make chicken soup out of chicken sh#t.
Edwards was under siege all day, being sacked 6 times. To add insult to injury a former CFL guy, who the Bills actually worked out in the spring, Cameron Wake abused Kirk Chambers to the point where Chambers was wishing he was still cut. Wake kicked it into high gear, sacking Edwards 3 times. Edwards is on pace to be sacked 64 times for the season, if he even makes it. It's a telling stat because Edwards is only 7 sacks away (16) from matching his sack total from last year (23).
You think Jason Peters and Langston Walker are laughing somewhere?
