Thurman Thomas is not a fan of Julie Brown

Man, I love Twitter. I especially love the banter between Darryl Talley and Thurman Thomas on the site.The two of them were twittering about going to strip clubs.

I decided to get in on the fray and asked Thurman if he had ever hooked up with celebrities. Specifically,I asked him if he ever had a fling with Julie Brown. I brought J. Brown up because if you remember, during SB XXV media week, the Bills players were all over Brown (I'm not talking about the media all over Jauron type), who was covering the SB for MTV. This was Thurman's response to going downtown on Julie Brown (Sorry couldn't resist)

"To ugly and a million pot holes in her face, I never hung out with celebrities"

Ouch! I wonder if Thomas got dissed by Julie and that's why the sour grapes. Of course I'm just being cynical.

Talley Speaks on being a possible Bills consultant

Who says blogs are all objective. I can break some news. As a follow-up to my previous blog about former Bills players being hired as consultants. I tweeted Darryl Talley and asked what sort of consultant he would make for the Buffalo Bills. Here was Talley's response.

DarryllTalley@joefromnycblog there aren't many things I can say with absolute certainty but I do know football so yes I would make a superior hire!

I followed up, and asked Talley if he would be interested in consulting and if the Bills have called him about it.

"DarrylTalley@joefromnycblog yes I would & no they haven't. I approached them years ago and they had no interest in me."

Hmm, kind of sounds that Talley may have been thinking about being a part of the Bills for a while. Also have to wonder if Sully got wind of this possibility and that's why he all of a sudden has become pro-former Bills players being brought into the organization.

As far as being slighted by the Bills, it maybe a sign that the Bills aren't as big on bringing back old-time Bills players as the public seems to be. Again, just being objective on my part.

Maybin is on Strike

Oh darn, I won't be able to make fun of Aaron Maybin's philosophic Tweets anymore. And maybe I shouldn't have to begin with. The unsigned linebacker tweeted today that he's been getting some negative feedback regarding his long contract dispute and has decided to put the kibosh on Twitter.

"Unfortunately, because of the ignorance and stupidity of some people on twitter, I have decidend not to sign on again until my contract is signed.

"I'm tired of having to defend myself and my love for this game and the Bills franchise every day, to those who know nothing about the business.''

"Thank u 2 all my real Bills fans. U are the reason I work as hard as i do & u will see A.M. very soon!''

I'm not sure what the rush is to get the guy in camp. Even if he got to camp on time, he wouldn't be contending for a starting job. At the same time shutting down your tweets because some Internet nerd (me) has been messaging you about getting to camp is a sign you don't like getting called out. Welcome to the NFL son. Kawaika Mitchel (Twitter extraordinaire) gave his expertise on the situation.

"u will ALWAYS face doubter/haters. Don't let them stop u. If u want to tweet or anything just do u. Haters everywhere we go.''

"get ur $ now b/c 20 yrs down the road no 1 will ever care about this. Ur play will b ur legacy. Ur not the 1st, won't b last. take ur time. We kno what u stand 4!''

"it's ridiculous 4 players 2 b blamed 4 contract disputes. If u watch the NFL, play fantasy fb, by pl cards, but tics or buy merchandise and anything else that's cost many that has to do w/ the NFL, u should understand that the business makes a lot of $. Why shouldn't the ppl doin the work benefit.

"Why shouldn't we take our time and make sure our contracts r structured to benefit us. Ppl don't be ignorant. Think about it as a business b/c the owners do.''

When did Mitchell become the go to guy when it came to issues in the NFL. First he was ticked off about Antonio Cromartie getting fined for talking s#$t about the food, now he's on a rampage against fans who want players to get into camps. I'm giving it till October for Mitchell to get fined by the NFL for saying something they don't like. I'm thinking dress code issues on the field. I'll be honest, I'm on Mitchell's side. Dude has to take care of business first and foremost. The only issue I could see it having is putting a microscope on him when reporting to camp. Once Maybin makes a mistake or is invisible during a game, you know those same fans who blamed Jason Peters play for holding out last year, will be at it again.

T.O.'s big T.O.E. is holding him out of practice today. The wide receiver did tweet after the Hall of Fame game that his Toe was bothering him after the game. No word on if he'll practice tonight. In other news, T.O's show still sucks!

Mitchell sounds off on Twitter

Gotta love Twitter! Forget the fact that Twitter is becoming a huge media tool for the future, it's all about stirring s#$t up. Bills Linebacker, Kawika Mitchell went off today, after news broke out that Chargers cornerback, Antonio Cromartie was fined $2,500 for complaining about the food in the cafeteria. 

Here is what Mitchell said about the fine:

"Players play this game. They're tryin to get us to play for free.  If we want to complain about some sh!t then let us b.  We're just like any other person workin.  If u don't like somethin I'm sure you'll complain.  Our voice is our rite. 

"It's bullsh!t that the league is scared of twitter.  We have opinions.  We sit backand listen to all the bullsh!t media, coaches and fans have to say, so if the chargers food sucks.  It sucks. Please!  B mad at real sh!t."

Fight the power! Mitchell has a point. From all the fining with jerseys not being tucked in and players celebrating touchdowns. I'm surprised the NFL even lets players talk to the media to voice their opinions about games. The NFL has already stated that they will fine players who Tweet during NFL Games. I'm already predicting that the NFL will work some sort of deal out with Twitter where they they will pay the site moguls and inordinate amount of money so the league can filter Tweets.
